MoT notified regarding the Taxation Tariff Change On Textile Industries

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Textiles (MoT) on December 09, 2025, issued the Taxation Tariff Change On Textile Industries.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Government is implementing major schemes such as PM MITRA Parks, PLI Scheme, National Technical Textiles Mission, SAMARTH, Silk Samagra-2, and Handloom & Handicrafts programmes to strengthen infrastructure, manufacturing, skilling, and value chains in the textile sector.

• Ease of doing business and cost competitiveness have been enhanced through PLI scheme revisions, extension of export obligation period under Advance Authorisation, duty-free import of cotton till December 31, 2025, and rationalization of GST across the textile value chain.

• Export support measures include RoSCTL for apparel and made-ups, RoDTEP for other textile products, and approval of the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (₹20,000 crore) to improve access to credit, especially for MSMEs.

• India has signed 15 Free Trade Agreements, including the India-UK CETA (July 2025), to reduce trade barriers and enhance market access for Indian textile exports.

• A 40-country market diversification strategy and the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) are being implemented through coordinated efforts of ministries, EPCs, industry, and Indian missions abroad to expand exports and build a resilient global presence.
