The Lok Sabha on December 05, 2025, introduced the Code on Social Security (Amendment) Bill, 2025, to further amend the Code on Social Security, 2020.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Chapter IXA has been inserted which states “Platform and Gig Workers Welfare” the following has been stated namely: -
o A Board shall be established to be known as the Platform Based Gig Workers Welfare Board to exercise the powers conferred on, and perform the duties and functions assigned to it, under this Act.
o The Board shall fix –
(a) A minimum rate of wages for time work;
(b) A minimum rate of wages for piece work
o The Regulation of working hours has been stated.
