Industry Specific ComplianceThe Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on December 12, 2025, issued a notification regarding the submission of information regarding identified critical items that are currently being imported and support required for their localisation.

The following has been stated: -

•CEA identified 73 critical power-sector items, largely imported due to technology and scale gaps, in consultation with IEEMA and industry stakeholders. 

•Of these, 16 high-dependency items are prioritised for immediate localisation, while 57 require detailed manufacturer inputs to assess feasibility and costs. 

•Stakeholders are requested to submit item-wise data on costs, demand, imports, and support needed for localisation. 

•The initiative supports Atmanirbhar Bharat by reducing import dependence and strengthening energy security, with inputs due by December 29, 2025.
