EHS ComplianceThe Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on December 11, 2025, issued a notification regarding the establishment of the National Control Room (NCR) for the effective implementation of the ban on identified single-use plastic (SUP) items.

The following has been stated: -

•A National Control Room (NCR) has been established in CPCB to oversee nationwide enforcement of the ban on identified single-use plastic (SUP) items from December 2025 to February 28, 2026.

•The NCR will provide guidance, clarifications, stakeholder support, and information on banned items, alternatives, grievance redressal, compliance portals, and certified compostable plastic manufacturers.

•It will monitor enforcement by States/UTs, track inspections and compliance actions, and coordinate awareness campaigns on SUP.

•State Pollution Control Boards/PCCs have been directed to set up State-level Control Rooms, submit weekly reports, intensify inspections, and conduct awareness activities.
