Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Power (MoP) on December 08, 2025, issued a notification regarding Star Labelling norms for Induction Hobs.

The following has been stated: -

•The Central Government has notified mandatory star labelling norms for household induction hobs manufactured or imported in India, aligned with IS 19014:2022, IEC 62301:2011, and safety standard IS 302-2-6.

•Star ratings (1 to 5) will be based on energy consumption (Ehob), with stricter bands effective from July 01, 2026, to December 31, 2028, and no negative tolerance permitted.

•Performance evaluation includes energy consumption, thermal efficiency, heating-up time, and standby power, with testing and reporting as per prescribed annexures.

•Eligibility requires BIS certification, standby power ≤ 1.1 W, and a minimum thermal efficiency of 80%.
