The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on December 16, 2025, issued a notification in relation to Two-Year validity framework for NPO registration on the social stock exchange.
SEBI, through notifications dated September 8, 2025, amended the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015 and the SEBI (issue of capital and disclosure requirements) Regulations, 201,8 to allow Not-for-Profit Organisations (NPOs) registered with a Social Stock Exchange (SSE) to remain registered without raising funds for a maximum period of two years from the date of registration.
In line with these amendments, BSE has implemented a two-year validity period for NPO registrations on the BSE SSE platform. All new NPO registrations from September 9, 2025, onwards will be valid for two years. Existing valid registrations as of September 9, 2025, will also continue for a period of two years from their respective registration dates.
If an NPO does not raise funds within this two-year validity period, its registration will automatically lapse. All stakeholders are advised to take note of this regulatory update. For further clarification, stakeholders may contact BSE at [email protected].
