The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I) on December 15, 2025, issued the Wholesale Price Index Numbers in India for November 2025 (Base Year: 2011-12).
The annual inflation rate for November 2025 ( as compared to November 2024 ) based on the All India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) is (-) 0.32 percent ( provisional). The negative rate of inflation in November 2025 is mainly due to the decrease in prices of food articles , mineral oils , crude petroleum and natural gas , basic metals, and electricity, etc. The indices and inflation rates for the last three months for all commodities and WPI components are given in the Table. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for November 2025 shows mixed movement across major groups. Primary Articles rose by 2.07%, driven by higher prices of minerals, food articles, and non-food articles, while crude petroleum and natural gas declined. Fuel & Power increased by 1.03%, with electricity prices rising 6.70%, mineral oils declining 0.67%, and coal prices remaining unchanged. Manufactured Products registered a marginal decline of 0.07%, with prices decreasing in 14 out of 22 industry groups and increasing in 7, notably in machinery, textiles, electrical equipment, and apparel.
The Food Index increased from 192.0 in October to 195.0 in November 2025. Year-on-year WPI inflation improved significantly, moving from (-) 5.04% in October to (-) 2.60% in November 2025. Final WPI for September 2025 stood at 155.0, with an inflation rate of 0.19%.
The November 2025 WPI is based on an 82% weighted response rate, while September 2025 final data uses 93.9%. Data will be revised as per the WPI Revision Policy. The next WPI release, for December 2025, is scheduled on January 14, 2026. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade continues to release the WPI on the 14th of each month, based on nationwide data from institutional and manufacturing sources.
