The Government of Nagaland, on November 29, 2025, issued the Nagaland Work-Charged and Casual Employees Regulation (Second Amendment) Act, 2025, to amend the Nagaland Work-Charged and Casual Employees Regulation Act, 2001.
The following has been stated: -
•The amendment revises Section 3(2)(a) to specify that the Chairperson shall be a retired officer of at least Commissioner & Secretary rank, with a tenure of three years or up to 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.
•It also amends Section 3(2)(d) to provide that the Member Secretary shall be an officer of the Finance Department not below the rank of Joint Secretary.
It shall come into force with effect from November 29, 2025.
