The Government of Bihar, on December 09, 2025, issued the Social Security (Bihar) Rules, 2025.
The following has been stated:
• Definitions: - “Agency” means any corporation, body or institution, established under an Act of Parliament or Central Public Sector Undertaking or Special Purpose Vehicle as notified by the Central Government.; “benefit period” means the period not exceeding six consecutive months corresponding to the contribution period, as may be specified in the Regulations; “Code” means the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020); “ShramSuvidha Portal” means portal of Ministry of Labour and Employment; “standard benefit rate” means average daily wages obtained by dividing the total wages paid during the Contribution period by the number of days for which these wages were paid ;
• Part I - Bihar Unorganized Workers Social Security Board - Manner of exercising the powers and performance of functions by State Unorganised Workers' Board under sub-section (9) and sub section (16), the manner of nomination of members of the Board, their term of office and other conditions of service, the procedure to be followed in the discharge of their functions by, and the manner of filling vacancies among the members of, the Board under sub-section (12), the time, place and rules of procedure relating to the transaction of business at its meetings under sub-section (14) of section 6- (1) Constitution of the State Social Security Board for Unorganised Workers.
• Part II - Bihar Building and Others Construction Workers Welfare Board - Terms and conditions of appointment and the salaries and other allowances payable to the chairperson and the other members of the Building Workers' Welfare Board and the manner of filling of casual vacancies of such members, under subsection (4), the terms and conditions of appointment and the salary and allowances payable to the Secretary and the other officers and employees of the said Board under clause (c) of sub-section (5) of section 7;
