•They prescribe norms for land use, building permissions, height, coverage, floor area ratio, and safety requirements.
•The bye-laws aim to ensure structural safety, orderly urban growth, and compliance with planning and environmental standards.
•They also define procedures for approvals, enforcement, and penalties for violations.
