The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D) on December 17, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Fisheries and Dairy Development Initiatives.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government of India is implementing multiple fisheries schemes in Gujarat, including PMMSY, FIDF, Blue Revolution, and PM-MKSSY, focusing on production growth, infrastructure, sustainability, and fisher welfare.
•Training and awareness programs under PMMSY and through NFDB trained 1,200 fishermen in Gujarat, while the state allocated ₹160 crore in 2025-26 for coastal aquaculture welfare and sustainable practices.
•In the dairy sector, the NPDD scheme supports quality testing and cooling infrastructure, with nine projects in Gujarat approved at an outlay of ₹55,613.66 lakh.
•Additional financial support through DIDF (now merged with AHIDF) and SDCFPO provided substantial interest subvention benefits to Gujarat’s dairy cooperatives and milk unions.
