The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on December 05, 2025, notified regarding the amendments to the Fertiliser Regulatory Framework to strengthen Quality Control and Compliance.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It introduces amendments to the existing fertiliser regulations to improve quality assurance, monitoring, and regulatory oversight in the fertiliser sector. It updates provisions relating to the manufacture, sale, distribution, and labeling of fertilisers, ensuring greater transparency and traceability in the supply chain.
• The revised framework strengthens inspection, sampling, and testing mechanisms to curb sub-standard or adulterated fertilisers.
• It also rationalises compliance requirements for manufacturers and dealers while safeguarding the interests of farmers by ensuring the availability of quality fertilisers.
• Overall, the amendments aim to promote efficient regulation, accountability, and sustainable agricultural practices.
