Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) on December 16, 2025, notified regarding the Fair, Transparent and Inclusive E-Commerce by Creating an Open, Non-Discriminatory Digital Marketplace.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) creates an open, interoperable e-commerce ecosystem that allows sellers to reach customers across multiple platforms without platform-specific restrictions, ensuring fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory discovery. 

• It particularly benefits small businesses, local traders, and MSMEs by making all sellers equally visible through open protocols and transparent listing and ranking mechanisms. 

• The Ministry of MSME’s TEAM scheme supports digital onboarding, literacy, and cataloguing for small sellers, SHGs, FPOs, and artisans, with 50% focus on women-led enterprises. As of 9 December 2025, over 1.16 lakh retail sellers from 630+ cities are live on ONDC, enhancing competition, price transparency, and consumer choice.
