The Government of Telangana, on December 17, 2025, issued a notification regarding National and Festival Holidays for Shops & Establishments.
The following has been stated: -
•The Telangana Government has notified National, Festival, and Other Holidays with wages for employees of Shops and Establishments in Hyderabad (Twin Cities) for the year 2026 under the Telangana Shops & Establishments Act, 1988.
•The notification is issued under Section 31 of the Act following consultations with employee unions. It lists paid holidays including Sankranti, Republic Day, Ramzan, May Day, Telangana Formation Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti.
•These holidays are mandatory and applicable to all eligible employees during the 2026 calendar year.
