The Government of Maharashtra on December 19, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Grant of Paid Leave/Relaxation to Employees for Exercising Voting Rights in Municipal Elections to be held on December 20, 2025
The following has been stated namely: -
• Municipal Council and Municipal Panchayat elections will be held on December 20, 2025, including in districts bordering Maharashtra, as per the State Election Commission’s orders.
• All establishments under the Department of Industry, Energy and Labour must give full paid leave to eligible voters on polling day.
• In exceptional cases, a 2–3 hour special concession must be provided.
• Strict compliance is mandatory, and complaints regarding denial of leave or concession will lead to action against the concerned establishments.
