The Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation (MCX) on December 18, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Cyber Security Advisory – Learning from Incidents.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The BFSI and financial markets sector faces increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, including ransomware, phishing, data exfiltration, and DDoS attacks, posing serious operational and financial risks.
• Members are advised to strengthen access control measures, including mandatory multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access, and regular audits of user accounts.
• Robust patch management and vulnerability controls must be implemented, supported by an up-to-date inventory of all hardware and software assets.
• Organizations should enhance ransomware and data protection readiness through secure backup strategies, data loss prevention (DLP), and advanced EDR/XDR endpoint security solutions.
• Strong network security and incident response mechanisms are required, including network segmentation, DDoS mitigation services, tested incident response plans, and mandatory reporting of cyber incidents to authorities.
