The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), on December 17, 2025, notified regarding the Categorisation of Industrial sectors into White Category.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has revised the methodology for the calculation of Pollution Index and has issued the revised categorisation list of industries under Red/Orange/Green/White/ Blue categories. The same was adopted by the Kerala SPCB vide Circular read (1) above. As per the categorisation of CPCB, a total of 54 industrial sectors were classified under White category.
• Now the MoEF&CC vide Gazette Notification no. 761(E) and 762(E), dated 17.10.2025, notified the list of 86 sectors under the white category, which are exempted from the requirement of consent under the Water and Air Act, thus including 32 additional sectors in White.
• The revised list issued by the Ministry (enclosed herewith) is hereby adopted, and Consent applications shall be processed accordingly.
