The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) on December 18, 2025, issued a circular regarding developing green belt/green cover for Industrial Estates/Parks and individual industries.
The following has been stated: -
•The EIA Notification, 2006, requires prior Environmental Clearance, which includes the development of green belt/green cover as a mandatory condition.
•The Ministry, vide OM dated October 29, 2025, has revised the green belt criteria for Industrial Estates/Parks and individual industries, applicable prospectively and to cases under consideration.
•District offices are instructed to modify consent conditions in line with the revised OM and issue consents accordingly.
