Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) on December 17, 2025, notified regarding the first reallocation of Export Quota for export during Sugar season 2025-26.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has issued an order on re-allocation of sugar export quota for the Sugar Season 2025–26, pursuant to the Government’s decision allowing export of 15 LMT of sugar and permitting exchange between export quota and domestic monthly release quantities. 

• Based on requests and mutual agreements between sugar mills, the Department has approved the transfer of export quotas among mills and made corresponding adjustments in their domestic sales quotas. 

• The revised export allocations and domestic quota adjustments are detailed in the Annexure, with transfers scheduled in equal monthly instalments between January and May 2026 (and specified periods for certain mills). 

• This mechanism facilitates flexible quota utilization while ensuring balanced domestic availability and orderly sugar exports.
