The Central Pollution Control Board, (CPCB), on December 22, 2025, issued an important notice informing industries about the launch of a New Online Continuous Emission Monitoring System (OCEMS) Portal for direct transmission of emission data from industries to the CPCB server. The new portal is accessible at https://cems.cpcb.gov.in, and all industries registered on the old OCEMS portal, as well as those directed to install OCEMS, are required to register afresh and transmit data through the new portal.
CPCB has directed State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) and Pollution Control Committees (PCCs) to ensure timely onboarding of industries—Delhi-NCR industries by October 15, 2025, and industries in the rest of the country by November 15, 2025. To facilitate compliance, CPCB has operationalised three telephonic helpdesks and is conducting daily open virtual conferences (VCs) from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on all working days to address industry queries related to registration and data transmission.
Noting continued non-compliance by several industries, CPCB has mandated that data transmission on the New OCEMS Portal must commence by December 31, 2025 for Delhi-NCR industries and by January 31, 2026 for industries in the rest of the country. CPCB has cautioned that appropriate regulatory action may be initiated against industries failing to comply within the stipulated timelines.
