The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on December 22, 2025, issued a notification regarding the review of Air Pollution Control Measures and the ratified revised GRAP.
The following has been stated: -
•CAQM reviewed and adopted its Annual Report and ratified the revised GRAP in line with Supreme Court directions, along with reviewing its current-season implementation.
•The Commission approved the formation of an Expert Committee on vehicular emissions, discussed easing transition norms for zero-emission vehicle adoption, and reviewed strong enforcement actions, including industrial closures and prosecution.
•Significant progress was noted in reducing paddy stubble burning (about 92% reduction vs 2021), with states directed to prepare action plans for wheat residue burning in 2026.
•Key concerns such as C&D waste dust, End-of-Life vehicle enforcement, and the need for continued coordinated vigilance and strict implementation of pollution control measures were reiterated.
