Commercial Compliance The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, on December 18, 2025, issued the Legal Metrology (General) Seventh Amendment Rules, 2025, to further amend the Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011.

The following has been substituted:

In rule 27, in sub-rule (2), for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-

"(a) twenty-four months for all weights, capacity measures, length measures, tape, beam scale, counter machine and fuel dispensers (petrol and diesel),".

It shall come into force on December 18, 2025.
