The Government of Chhattisgarh on September 12, 2025, issued draft amendments to the Chhattisgarh Bhumi Vikas Niyam, 1984.
The following has been stated namely: -
• After sub-rule (66) of rule 2, a new sub-rule shall be inserted, "(66-a) "Temporary Structure" means structures erected for temporary, construction or ceremonial purposes which are not planned to remain in existence for more than six months, such as tents, shamiyana, machan, etc”.
• After rule 16-a, a new rule (16-b) shall be added, "(16-b) – “Joint Application" for development or construction of land/building may be submitted by the landowner and colonizer/developer between whom a registered joint development agreement/contract has been entered into."
• After clause (b) of sub-rule (4) of rule 39, the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-
o (c) For non-polluting (Green and White Category Industries) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) having area of 0.1 hectare or less, the minimum access road width shall be 7.5 meters.
o (d) For non-polluting (Green and White Category Industries) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) having area more than 0.1 hectare and up to 0.25 hectare, the minimum access road width shall be 9 meters.
• Rule 48 (3) shall be substituted, “(3) Hostels and dormitories shall be permissible in any plot, layout or sub-division of land in the industrial zone. For hostels and dormitories maximum floor area ratio shall be 2.0 and ground coverage shall be 70 percent."
