The Government of Meghalaya on December 15, 2025, notifies Retrospective Effect for Online E-Stamping Provisions.
The Government of Meghalaya, in exercise of powers under the second proviso to Rule 20 of the Meghalaya Stamps (Payment of Duty by means of E-Stamping) Rules, 2020, has declared that the provisions of the first proviso to Rule 20 shall be deemed to have come into force retrospectively from August 29, 2023. This date corresponds to the official launch of online e-stamping/Secure Computerised (SCI) printing in the State of Meghalaya, thereby regularising and validating the implementation of the system from that date.
