The U.P. New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) on December 08, 2025, issued a notification regarding the establishment of Compressed Biogas Plants.
The following has been stated: -
•The U.P. State Bio-Energy Policy-2022 permits setting up CBG plants using various bio-wastes.
•Projects can be established without availing state subsidies, with no restriction from the State Government.
•Such projects are not required to apply through the UPNEDA portal.
•Banks may finance these projects based on financial viability, and UPNEDA will extend support under the policy.
