The Government of Andhra Pradesh on December 02, 2025, issued the Andhra Pradesh Regulation and Control of Display Devices (Promotion of Products and Services) in Urban Local Bodies Rules, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• These rules are applicable to all the Urban Local Bodies (Nagar Panchayats, Municipalities and Municipal Corporations) of Andhra Pradesh covered by the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965, Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994 based on Municipal Corporations Act, 1955, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Act, 1979, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Act, 1981.
• No Person shall erect, exhibit, fix or retain upon or over any Land, Building, Wall, Hoarding, frame, Post, Kiosk or Structure any Display to public view in any manner whatsoever, visible from a public street or public place or in any place within the city/town, either Permanent or Temporary, without the prior written permission of the competent authority.
• The Urban Local Bodies are entitled to give permissions for Display Devices:
o To the private individuals, groups, trusts, societies, political parties, Government Departments or Organizations, and any other who applies as per the procedure prescribed below and who are having valid license issued by the concerned ULB
o To erect such display device or structure for display of commercials, non-commercials, awareness campaigns and publicity notifications in any premises either in private property or in Government premises within the ULB limits for certain duration or period as specified hereunder.
