The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) on November 26, 2025, issued the Draft Inland Vessels (Manning) Rules 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Every inland vessel shall have minimum manning on-board
• The minimum manning applicable to each inland vessel, shall be recorded by the Surveyor in the Certificate of Survey, in accordance with the type and size of the vessel, its operating area, engine capacity and such other factors as may be decided by the Central Government, from time to time.
• The Appointment of Examiners & Examination Centres has been stated in the Draft.
