The Government of Karnataka on December 22, 2025, issued the Karnataka Registration (Refusal and Cancellation of Registered Documents) Rules, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Registering Officer shall refuse to register a document under Section 22-B (1) under certain conditions
• The Registering Officer shall refuse to register a document relating to transactions prohibited by any Central Act or State Act. The State Government shall notify a list of the types of documents relating to transactions prohibited by any Central Act or State Act for the purposes of Section 22-B (2)
• The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette from time to time, specify documents that shall be refused to registration
