The Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) on December 24, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Implementation of Standardized Format for submission of representation seeking risk assessment.
The following has been stated namely: -
• FSSAI sets science-based food standards and regulates food manufacture, storage, distribution, sale, and import to ensure safe and wholesome food.
• Due to incomplete and non-uniform representations, FSSAI has implemented a standardized format for submissions to the Science and Standards Division.
• The new format will support efficient management, transparency, and enable Scientific Panels and Committees to conduct risk assessments as per the 2016 Regulations.
• FSSAI invites FBOs, industry bodies, research institutions, professionals, and citizens to voluntarily submit food safety and nutrition data; all submissions will be treated as confidential.
• Representations must be submitted only via the NSC portal under “Submit Representation” from January 01, 2026.
