The Labour Department, Madhya Pradesh, on December 24, 2025, issued a notification regarding restrictions on the inspection of Small Establishments.
The following has been stated: -
•The Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1958, restricts inspections of establishments employing fewer than 20 workers.
•Such inspections require prior approval of the Labour Commissioner or an authorised officer.
•Exercising statutory powers, the State Government has issued a formal notification on this matter.
•Establishments with less than 20 employees cannot be inspected without State Government permission.
