The Government of Punjab, on December 24, 2025, issued a notification regarding the adjustment of Minimum Wage Rates in the state.
The following has been stated: -
•Minimum wages were notified vide order dated May 26, 2015, linked to CPI-IW (Base 2001=100) with an average index of 227 for six months ending August 31, 2013.
•The Labour Bureau adopted the new CPI-IW series (Base 2016=100) vide letter dated November 03, 2020, linked to the old series.
•The average CPI-IW for the period March 01, 2025, to August 31, 2025, is 426.06, leading to wage revision.
•Accordingly, revised minimum wages are effective from September 01, 2025, with unskilled wages fixed at ₹11,726.40 per month.
