Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on December 24, 2025, notified regarding the Next-Generation Quality Reforms to Strengthen India’s Quality Ecosystem.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Quality Council of India (QCI) announced a comprehensive set of next-generation quality reforms aimed at strengthening India’s nationwide quality ecosystem across sectors such as healthcare, laboratories, MSMEs, and manufacturing. 

• The reforms, unveiled on the eve of Sushasan Divas 2025, include the introduction of the Q Mark – Desh ka Haq—a QR-coded quality mark to enhance transparency and trust by helping citizens verify accredited entities and reduce fake certificates. 

• QCI will also transition from frequent inspections to a trust-based system with reduced paperwork, quicker timelines, and expanded assessor pools to improve accessibility and efficiency. 

• New initiatives like Quality Setu for grievance redressal, a one-stop digital accreditation platform, reduced certification fees, and skilling programs for MSMEs and laboratories are designed to elevate India’s quality standards and global competitiveness. 

• The reforms further include updates to accreditation processes under NABL, NABH, and NABCB to streamline operations, improve patient safety, and enhance market access for Indian products and services.
