Industry Specific ComplianceThe Rural Development Department, Govt. of Maharashtra on December 26, 2025, issued the Guidelines/Instructions regarding the demolition of dilapidated or dangerous school buildings under the jurisdiction of the Zilla Parishad.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has issued detailed standard operating guidelines for the demolition of dilapidated or dangerous school buildings and classroom structures under the jurisdiction of Zilla Parishads. 

• The resolution responds to concerns about unsafe school infrastructure and directs authorities to prepare action plans, conduct joint structural audits, and submit reports with safety assessments to appropriate education and building officials. 

• It lays out procedural steps for identifying hazardous school buildings, assigning responsibilities to development and engineering officers, and taking timely demolition action in coordination with Panchayat Samiti bodies. 

• The order also specifies documentation, risk evaluation, and accountability measures to ensure that hazardous structures are safely removed, and mandates that demolished sites be thoroughly cleared to prevent hazards.
