The Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on December 23, 2025, notified regarding the amendment to its older direction stating the Fast-tracking of cleaner mobility in services provided by Motor Vehicle Aggregators, Delivery Service Providers, E-Commerce Entities, etc.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has amended Direction No. 94 dated June 03, 2025, which focuses on fast-tracking cleaner mobility in services provided by motor vehicle aggregators, delivery service providers, and e-commerce entities across the NCR. While the original direction prohibited induction of petrol and diesel vehicles in existing fleets from January 01, 2026, the amendment allows temporary induction of BS-VI emission-standard 2-wheelers in the existing fleet up to December 31, 2026, considering operational difficulties and low adoption of electric two-wheelers by gig workers.
• The restriction on the induction of conventional ICE vehicles in 4-wheelers and light goods vehicles (N1 category) remains unchanged from January 01, 2026.
• The amendment aims to balance air-quality objectives with practical implementation challenges while continuing the transition towards cleaner mobility in the NCR.
