The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on December 30, 2025, issued a notification regarding extension for the upload of KYC Records with KRA.
• SEBI and CDSL reviewed client PAN data and observed that several Depository Participants (DPs) have not complied with Point No. 84 of SEBI Master Circular dated October 12, 2023, which mandates the timely upload of KYC records with KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs).
• Non-upload of KYC records is non-compliance with applicable SEBI circulars and KRA regulations. Based on representations received from DPs, and pursuant to the CDSL communique dated September 26, 2025, the deadline for uploading pending KYC records with KRAs has been extended to January 30, 2026.
• DPs are required to:
o Upload KYC records of all non-closed demat account holders with KRAs.
o Allow transactions only for clients whose KRA status is “KYC Registered” or “KYC Validated.”
• The measure aims to ensure seamless interoperability across market participants and to prevent inconvenience to investors.
• DPs are advised to prioritize and complete the upload and validation/registration of all pending KYC records without further delay.
