The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on December 30, 2025, issued a circular inviting public comments on the proposed amendments to the Rules and Bye Laws of National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX).
The following has been stated namely: -
• The amendments are proposed to facilitate the introduction of equity and equity derivatives trading on the NCDEX platform, aligning the exchange’s Rules and Bye-Laws with SEBI directives and broader market participation requirements — subject to SEBI approval.
• Revisions include updating governance provisions (e.g., definitions and responsibilities of members and authorities) to reflect the expanded regulatory framework, ensuring all dealings and obligations are clearly subject to the revised Rules and Bye-Laws.
• Key changes clarify and strengthen how member obligations, fees, deposits, and liabilities are treated under the Rules and Bye-Laws, including rights of the Exchange to appropriate funds and enforce compliance without reference to the trading member in certain scenarios.
• Amendments ensure that all contracts and trade dealings expressly state that they are governed by NCDEX’s updated Rules, Bye-Laws, and Regulations, and include provisions on the inviolability of trades subject to specific annulment conditions (e.g., fraud or material mistakes).
• Any person having comments/observations on the proposed amendments may be sent to the Legal Department, National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX), Ackruti Corporate Park, 1st Floor, Near G.E. Garden, LBS Marg, Kanjurmarg (West), Mumbai — 400078, by January 14, 2026.
