The Ministry of Communications (MoC) on December 30, 2025, notified regarding the National Frequency Allocation Plan 2025 (NFAP-2025) released by DoT to take effect from 30 December 2025, aligning India with global spectrum standards.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The National Frequency Allocation Plan 2025 (NFAP-2025) will be effective from December 30, 2025, and governs spectrum allocation in the range of 8.3 kHz to 3000 GHz in India.
• It identifies the 6425–7125 MHz band for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT), significantly boosting mid-band spectrum availability for 5G, 5G-Advanced, and future 6G services.
• The plan also allocates Ka, Q, and V bands for satellite communications and provides additional spectrum for in-flight and maritime connectivity.
• Overall, NFAP-2025 strengthens support for emerging technologies such as V2X communication and LEO/MEO satellites, ensuring harmonisation with global standards and fostering a robust digital ecosystem in India.
