Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on December 30, 2025, issued a notification regarding improving transparency using Body Worn Camera (BWC) having video/audio recording facility for the uniformed officers having interface with passengers at International Airports.

The following has been stated: -

•To enhance transparency and accountability, Body Worn Cameras (BWCs) with audio-video recording are mandated for Customs officers interacting with passengers at international airports.

•BWCs are prescribed primarily for officers deployed at the Red Channel and during any passenger interaction within airport premises.

•A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been issued for uniform implementation across all international airports under CBIC.

•The instructions take immediate effect, with Zones required to issue Standing Orders and report implementation issues to CBIC.
