The Government of Madhya Pradesh, on December 29, 2025, issued a list of holidays.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It declares the list of general holidays for the year 2026 applicable to all government offices and institutions across Madhya Pradesh.
• In addition to the general holidays, it also specifies a set of optional (optional/aechchhik) holidays for 2026.
• Separately, under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the Government notified holidays to be observed as Public Holidays under the N.I. Act for 2026, via a distinct notification.
• The holidays mentioned in Section 6 apply only to banks and treasuries/sub-treasuries.
• The following festivals/anniversaries, etc., fall on Sundays and are not included in the list of optional holidays.
• The holiday lists are enclosed below.
