The Lakshadweep Administration on December 17, 2025, declared closed holidays and restricted holidays for Lakshadweep Administration during the year 2026.
Lakshadweep Administration declare that the holidays specified in Annexure I & II shall be observed as closed holidays and Restricted holidays for Lakshadweep Administration during the year 2026 in all Government Offices under the Administration of Union Territory of Lakshadweep. In addition to closed holiday, each employee will also be allowed to avail himself/herself of any two holidays to be chosen by him/her out of the list of Restricted Holidays.
The holidays are also applicable to Banks in Lakshadweep. In Addition April 01, 2026 will be closed holiday for Banks on account of annual closing of Bank Accounts.
Any change in the date of Holidays in respect of Idul Fitr, Idul Zuha (Bakrid), Muharram and Milad-Un Nabi (Birth day of Prophet Mohammed), if necessary, will be declared depending upon sighting of the moon. For offices outside Kavaratti, the DCs/BDOS/AO, Kochi are authorized to declare the change in date of the holiday and in respect of Kavaratti, Director (GAP) is authorized to issue the order.
