The Government of Punjab, on December 29, 2025, issued the Punjab Abadi deh (Record of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2025, further to amend the Punjab Abadi deh (Record of Rights) Act, 2021.
The following has been stated: -
•The amendment replaces fixed timelines in Sections 11 and 12 of the Punjab Abadi Deh (Record of Rights) Act, 2021.
•The 90-day period in Section 11(1) is substituted with a timeframe to be notified by the Government.
•Similarly, the 60-day period in Section 11(2) is replaced with a Government-notified timeframe.
•Section 12(4) is also amended to substitute the 60-day limit with a time period notified by the Government.
