The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on Janury 07, 2026, issued a circular regarding the applicability of Event based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM) for Gaur and Turmeric.
This is in continuation of Exchange Circulars dated October 15, 2019; October 17, 2019; September 18, 2020; and December 30, 2021, which notified the applicability of Event-based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM) on select commodities based on price volatility.
Based on the High–Low price variation, E-ASM at the rate of 2.5% has been re-triggered and will be applicable to all running and yet-to-be-launched contracts in Guar Gum, Guar Seed, and Turmeric. The margin shall remain in force up to January 29, 2026.
The trigger dates for E-ASM across commodities indicate that Guar Gum and Turmeric met both the 5-day (10%) and 10-day (15%) movement criteria on January 7, 2026, while Guar Seed met the 5-day movement criterion on the same date. Other commodities did not trigger E-ASM.
All other applicable margins shall continue to be levied as per existing norms.
