The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on January 08, 2026, issued an amendment to the older notification no. S.O. 3921 (E), dated August 26, 2025, about the reconstitution of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) and State Level Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) for Uttar Pradesh.
The following has been amended, namely: -
• In paragraph 1, clause (iii) and the entries relating thereto, shall be substituted with “(iii) Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh - Member Secretary”.
• In paragraph 4, under the heading “State Level Expert Appraisal Committee-1,” for clause (vi) and the entries relating thereto, the following clause and entries shall be substituted - “(vi)Conservator of Forests, Varanasi Circle, Varanasi -Member Secretary.”
• In paragraph 4, under the heading “State Level Expert Appraisal Committee-2” for clause (vi) and the entries relating thereto, the following clause and entries shall be substituted- “(vi) Conservator of Forests, Varanasi Circle, Varanasi - Member Secretary.”
