The Revenue and Forest Department, Maharashtra on January 16, 2026, issued the Draft Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Lowering of Ceiling on Holdings) (Distribution of Surplus Land) and (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Lowering of Ceiling on Holdings) (Distribution of Surplus Land) and (Amendment) Rules, 1975.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Rule 12 for clause (d-1) the following clause shall be substituted, namely: -
"(d-1) if the allotted land is required for agricultural purpose.".
Objection/suggestion may be sent to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Maharashtra by February 13, 2026.
