The Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Department, Andhra Pradesh on January 12, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Draft amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Legal Metrology (Enforcement) Rules, 2011.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 11 which states “” the sub-rule (4) has been substituted namely: -
“Every licence granted to a manufacturer, repairer, or dealer shall be valid till 31st December of that calendar year and may be renewed for a minimum period of Two/Three Calendar Years to Five /Ten Calendar Years by the Controller or such other Legal Metrology Officer as may be authorized by him in this behalf on payment of such fee for each calendar year as specified in the Schedule IV.
Provided that an additional fee at full the rates specified in the Schedule IV shall be payable by the applicant if he is permitted by the Controller to make an application for the renewal of a licence within a period of three months from the date of expiry of the licence.
Provided that an additional fee at full the rates specified in the Schedule IV shall be payable by the applicant if the application for the renewal of a licence within a period of thirty days before the date of expiry of the licence."
• In Rule 11 under Schedule IV, the sub-rule (4) which is a table stating the “Licensing and Renewal Fees for Manufacturers, Repairers or Dealers of Weights and Measures” has been substituted.
The Objections/Suggestions should be sent to the Commissioner and Ex-Officio Secretary to Government, Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Department, Andhra Pradesh, Civil Supplies Corporation Building within 15 days.
