NCDEX notified regarding the Re-triggering and Applicability of Event-based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM) on Select Commodities

Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on January 19, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Applicability of Event based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM)

The following has been stated namely: -

• E-ASM is imposed to manage excessive price volatility in commodities by requiring additional margins when abnormal price movements are observed.

• E-ASM is triggered based on high–low price variation, calculated as:

o (High – Low) / Low × 100,

o Evaluated over 5 trading days (10%) and 10 trading days (15%).

• Based on price movement, E-ASM of 2.5% has been re-triggered for Guar Gum, and is applicable to all running and yet-to-be-launched contracts in Guar Gum until February 09, 2026.

• No E-ASM currently applicable on Barley, Castor Seed, Coriander, Jeera (including Mini), and Turmeric.

• Guar Seed has E-ASM applicable till February 05, 2026.
