Industry Specific ComplianceThe Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) on January 20, 2026, issued the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (Group Net Metering and Virtual Net Metering for Renewable Energy) (Seventh Amendment) Guidelines, 2025, to further amend the DERC (Group Net Metering and Virtual Net Metering for Renewable Energy) Guidelines, 2019.

The following has been stated namely: -

• In Guideline 3(2) (Applicability of VNM), the following shall be substituted as: - 

“Virtual Net Metering Framework shall be applicable for all consumers of NCT of Delhi including consumers of single point of supply.”

• In Guideline 9(2)(b), the following shall be substituted as: - 

“b. The consumer(s) shall have the option to change the share of credit of electricity from Renewable Energy System subject to the ratio of procurement or to add new participating service connections to the existing VNM arrangement under the agreement/MoU entered into by the consumer(s) twice in the financial year with an advance notice of two months”
