The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on January 22, 2026, issued a Public Consultation – Draft circular on “Participation of IFSC Banking Units (IBUs) in remote booking arrangements (RBA)”.
The following has been stated: -
•IFSCA has issued a draft circular for public consultation on Remote Booking Arrangements (RBA) involving IFSC Banking Units (IBUs).
•IBUs may participate in RBA for trading book transactions, but are prohibited from RBA for retail and corporate customer loans and deposits in the banking book.
•The draft mandates strong governance, risk management, control frameworks, and regulatory disclosures for RBA involving IBUs.
•Stakeholders may submit comments to IFSCA by February 13, 2026, and existing IBUs must comply within three months of the final circular.
