The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on January 22, 2026, issued the Draft Drugs (...... Amendment) Rules, 2025, to further amend the Drugs Rules, 1945.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 96 which states “Manner of Labelling” in sub-rule (1), after clause (xiii), following clause shall be inserted, namely: -
“(xiv) Antimicrobial drugs and their preparations shall bear a conspicuous blue vertical strip on the left side running throughout the body of the label without disturbing the other conditions printed on the label”
