The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB), on January 21, 2026, issued an Office Order clarifying the applicability of installation of Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (OCEMS) for Lead Recycling units located in the NCR region of Rajasthan, pursuant to the directions of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) dated October 9, 2025.
The clarification addresses representations received from Lead Recycling units operating temple/rotary furnaces using wood charcoal as fuel, which is permitted by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). RSPCB has clarified that furnaces using wood charcoal or gas are required to install OCEMS only for monitoring the Particulate Matter (PM) parameter, whereas furnaces using Low Sulphur Heavy Stock (LSHS) fuel must install OCEMS for PM, SO₂, and NOx parameters. In all cases, installation of PTZ cameras as per CPCB’s Standard Operating Procedure is mandatory.
All concerned industries in the NCR region of Rajasthan have been directed to ensure timely installation, configuration, and data connectivity of OCEMS, along with transmission of emission data to CPCB’s ODAMS portal and the State Board’s servers, in strict compliance with the prescribed directions.
